Stir-fry Thai beef with red chillies

Sweet chilli, a light fragrant sauce, with a hint of lemongrass and lime leaf, works well as a stir-fry sauce and creates an interesting dish with beef and green beans.

Shopping list:
200g green beans halved
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
350g Rump or sirloin beef cut into thin strips
1 Tbsp fresh basil leaves chopped to garnish
1 jar of of Sharwood's Thai Red Curry Cooking Sauce


Method:
1) Plunge the beans in boiling salted water for 2 minutes and drain.
2) Heat the oil in a wok or frying pan.
3) Add the beef and stir-fry for 5 minutes until the beef is just cooked.
4) Reduce the heat and add the beans and sauce.
5) Continue cooking for 1-2 minutes to heat through all the ingredients.
6) Garnish with fresh chopped basil leaves.

Adjusting the heat

To tone down a dish that’s too spicy, add coconut milk, stock or a little sugar. To increase the heat, add fresh (or dried) chillies or a teaspoon of Thai chilli sauce.
