2 medium onions - finely chopped
2 garlic cloves - crushed
2 Tbsp oil
450g cubed chicken
1 tsp chopped ginger
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp chilli powder
300ml water
1 Tbsp tomato puree
1 tbsp Sharwood's Green Label Mango Chutney
1 Tbsp lemon juice
3 Tbsp garam masala
1 Tbsp coriander - chopped to garnish
Cooking Method
Fry the onions and garlic in the oil until golden brown. Add the chicken, ginger, chilli and turmeric and fry for 5 minutes. Add the water, tomato puree, chutney and lemon juice. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Add Garam Masala and season to taste. Simmer for a further 10 minutes and serve. CHEFS TIP: Garnish with freshly chopped coriander. Serve with basmati rice or naan bread, mango chutney, a selection of pickles and puppodums.
